WORKFLOW

How a payout run works

Four steps, two signers, one settlement transaction. Every step is enforced by the distributor contract rather than by convention.

01

Fund treasury

Hold USDC in your own wallet or Safe, and approve payrail as a spender.

02

Upload batch

Drop a CSV of address, amount, reference. payrail validates and hashes it before anything is signed.

03

Approve

A second signer approves the committed payload on-chain.

04

Settle & reconcile

Execute once, then export the payout events as a reconciliation file.

PLATFORM

Built for finance operations

One batch, one transaction

Upload a CSV of thousands of recipients. payrail commits the payload on-chain, then settles it in a single transaction against your treasury allowance.

Maker / checker approval

The operator who builds a batch can never approve it. Approval is enforced by the contract, not by your process document.

Funds never leave your treasury

payrail holds no balance. It spends an ERC-20 allowance from the treasury you control, so a paused or retired distributor cannot trap money.

Fees you can quote

Gas on Arc is paid in USDC with stable pricing, so the cost of a payout run is known before you press send.

Settled in under a second

Arc has deterministic finality: once the transaction lands it is final. No confirmation waiting, no reorg handling.

USDC and EURC

Pay contractors in dollars or euros from the same treasury, both native on Arc.

Audit-ready records

Every payout emits an event with recipient, amount and batch id. Export a reconciliation CSV straight from the console.

Idempotent by design

A batch id can only be executed once. Retrying a failed run can never double-pay a recipient.

USE CASES

What teams pay with it

Contractor payroll

Monthly runs for global contractors, priced and paid in USDC.

Vendor settlement

Net-30 supplier invoices settled in one batch with references intact.

Affiliate commissions

High-volume, low-value payouts where per-transfer fees usually hurt.

Marketplace sellers

Scheduled seller disbursements with the payload hash as proof of intent.

Refunds

Bulk refunds tied to an internal batch id you can search later.

Treasury sweeps

Move funds to operating wallets under a two-signer control.

NETWORK

Built on Arc

payrail runs on Arc Testnet. Arc is Circle's layer 1 where USDC is the native gas token. Arc mainnet is not open to the public yet, so the app targets testnet and reads its chain configuration from the environment — the same build points at mainnet once an RPC endpoint is available.

ROADMAP

Where payrail is going

v0.1 is live on Arc Testnet. Everything after it is sequenced so the settlement contract stays unchanged while the controls around it get stronger.

v0.1 Batch settlement core

Shipped
  • CSV upload with address, amount and duplicate validation
  • Maker/checker approval enforced by the distributor contract
  • USDC and EURC payouts, up to 500 recipients per transaction
  • Wallet connect, network switching, role and pause controls
  • Reconciliation CSV export and browser-tracked batch history

v0.2 Treasury controls

In progress
  • Safe / multisig submission and approval flow
  • Per-batch allowances instead of a standing approval
  • Saved recipient books with reference templates
  • Automatic splitting for files above the 500 recipient cap

v0.3 Operations

Planned
  • REST ingestion and webhooks for payout systems
  • Scheduled runs for recurring payroll cycles
  • Role-scoped console views for finance, ops and audit
  • Accounting exports mapped to ledger entries

v1.0 Production

Planned
  • External audit of the distributor contract
  • Arc mainnet configuration once a public RPC opens
  • Optional privacy on payout amounts
  • CCTP funding from other chains into the treasury
